Company History

Richard “Dick” Roppolo started Roppolo Realty in 1955 with three simple principles in mind; kindness, honesty, and integrity. These principals remain the foundation of the business to this day.

After graduating from Northwestern University with a degree in accounting, Dick decided to use his talents in the real estate business. His first office was in the basement of his parents home in the Old Irving Park neighborhood. At the time, he focused primarily on residential real estate and property management. Using his kind heart and business savvy, he grew the business into a full service real state company. He opened an office in the Harwood Height/Norridge Area, where the office has remained in the area to this day.

Dick was very active in the Real Estate Board and other real estate organizations. In 1976, Dick served as President of the Real Estate Board. He became a well know and respected name in the community and real estate industry.

Dick’s daughter Valerie started helping around the office at a young age. She would empty garbage cans, answer the phone, greet clients, file paperwork, whatever she could do to help; all the while learning the business from her father. Valerie got her real estate license shortly after high school and began working full time. Of all the valuable skills and qualities Valerie picked up from her father, the most important thing she learned is to treat every client as if they were family. This core value is the foundation of all Roppolo Realty’s business relationships to this day. It is this characteristic that has allowed Roppolo Realty to remain in business for the past 60+ years, and has kept our clients returning again and again for the same trustworthy guidance and assistance they have come to know and expect at Roppolo Realty.
